Rest and relaxation. These are hard things to achieve for the workaholic. As for me, if I am not busy, I feel unproductive. But lately, I have been appreciating those times when I can just "chill" and not have to worry about so many things. I just made it in from Washington DC, where I had an incredible time. But it was stressful. And hectic. In five days, I boarded 10 airplanes. Of course, I attended Laura's wedding in Dayton, OH (which I wouldn't have missed for anything), but still, that's alot of traveling for a guy in a short amount of time. And, due to the fact that the University paid for my travel from Monroe to DC and back, it was the smart thing to do to travel from DC to Dayton then back to DC. (Not sure if that sentence was the best it could be...Oh well...such is life.) And I am understanding that in order to rest and relax, one has to be very proactive in commanding that time in one's schedule. It must become a priority or it will never happen. It is very vital for our well-being. So I am trying to find things that I enjoy. Reading books that will open my mind and challenge my thinking. Pretty much avoiding TV right now. Maybe still too much internet! I guess we'll see....
